Cat and Eilir Day 2

Winter Walk Collage

Our second day of Christmas craft fun was on Saturday. We were away for the weekend in Ironbridge and went for a gorgeous mountain/woodland walk to enjoy the good spell of weather. On our way we collected various bits and bobs of interest: holly and ivy leaves, autumn leaves that had fallen, white and red berries, feathers, sticks, stones, and twigs. When we returned to the youth hostel we arranged them into collages on a piece of black card. We didn't stick them down, we just took a photo when we were happy with our composition (tipping it all off after snapping), so that we could take it in turns to create a fresh picture from scratch with the same materials. Eilir started with a decorative design, but after I created a snow scene featuring a fruit tree, he decided to make one where the holly represented grass and the white berries and stones made a snowman shape. Endless fun and cheap too!  :-)
