I started by weighing out the ingredients while the kids
bickered over who was going to have the biggest spoon, *insert eye roll
here*. They then creamed the butter & sugar, added the flour, mixed
it all together and then started asking if they could lick the spoons yet!
After they had made the mix into a dough, I added some green
food colouring to really bring the tree look out. The kids then rolled
out the dough and cut out the shapes. Once the biscuits were cool we made
some glace icing out of icing sugar mixed with hot water. As we were
enveloped in a cloud of icing sugar due to the kids furious mixing, it reminded
me why I don't like using icing sugar when baking with them, you get left with
a sticky mess and that stuff gets everywhere!
Once the "trees" were iced and stacked we added some
of those little edible metal balls to look like baubles and done.
